2. Summary of Data Practices

Accounts Sakeenah does not require users to create an account, sign in, or provide a password.
Ads and analytics Sakeenah does not currently use third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, AdMob, Google Sign-In, or Facebook SDK.
Local app data The App stores settings, favorites, counters, reading history, notification settings, achievements, challenges, progress, widget data, overlay state, diagnostics, and similar app data locally on your device.
Location The App may request approximate or precise location for prayer times, qibla direction, Hijri-related location behavior, and location-based display features.
Notifications and background refresh The App may use notification, exact-alarm, boot, vibration, battery optimization, and background task features to schedule azkar, prayer, after-prayer, sunnah, Islamic occasion, and widget refresh behavior.
Floating tasbih overlay The App may request Android overlay and foreground service permissions for a user-started floating tasbih counter that appears over other apps.
Backups, files, and sharing The App can create, share, save, and import user-initiated backup files containing local app data. It can also share text, achievements, progress, azkar content, and notification diagnostic reports when you choose to share them.

3. Information the App Accesses or Stores

Sakeenah may access or store the following information depending on the features you use:

Most app data is stored locally on your device using local storage technologies such as Hive, shared preferences, app documents storage, temporary files, and Android widget storage. We do not operate a user account database for Sakeenah.

4. How Location Is Used

Sakeenah uses location only for app features that need it, such as calculating prayer times, showing qibla direction, calculating distance to the Kaaba, selecting suitable prayer calculation behavior, and displaying location-related prayer information.

When the App performs reverse geocoding to show a readable place name, your latitude and longitude may be sent to Nominatim, a service based on OpenStreetMap, to convert coordinates into an address or area name. This request is made only for the feature that needs it. We do not run our own server that stores your location.

Your coordinates and readable location name may be saved locally so the App can keep prayer times, reminders, and the home-screen widget working without asking for location every time.

You can deny or revoke location permission from your device settings. If location permission is denied, location-based features may not work or may require manual alternatives where available.

5. How Notifications and Background Tasks Are Used

Sakeenah uses notifications to provide reminders such as morning and evening azkar, prayer-time reminders, after-prayer reminders, sunnah reminders, challenge summaries, and Islamic occasion reminders when those features are enabled.

On Android, the App may request permissions such as POST_NOTIFICATIONS, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, VIBRATE, SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM, and REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS to make reminders more reliable. You can manage these permissions from your device settings.

The App may use background tasks to refresh prayer notification schedules, check Islamic occasion schedules, and update the prayer home-screen widget. These tasks use locally stored app settings and prayer data and are intended only to provide enabled reminder and widget features.

6. Floating Tasbih Overlay

Sakeenah includes an Android-only floating tasbih counter that can appear over other apps. This feature starts only when you choose to open it from inside the App. It is used to let you count dhikr while using other apps.

To support this feature, Android may request permissions or services such as SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW, FOREGROUND_SERVICE, and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE. A persistent notification may be shown while the overlay is active. You can stop the floating counter from the App or from the overlay controls.

The floating tasbih uses local counter state and overlay state. We do not use the overlay to collect screen contents, record your screen, track other apps, or send overlay activity to our server.

7. Home-Screen Prayer Widget

Sakeenah can provide an Android home-screen widget for prayer times. To operate the widget, the App may save local widget data such as readable location name, theme mode, next prayer, remaining time, and prayer times. This data is stored locally on your device for widget display and refresh behavior.

8. Backups, Import, Export, Diagnostics, and Sharing

Sakeenah includes user-initiated backup and restore features. A backup file may contain all local app data, including Hive database boxes and shared preferences. This can include settings, favorites, counters, progress, history, challenges, rewards, notification preferences, notification diagnostics, prayer settings, location display data, widget data, overlay state, and other local app preferences.

When you choose to share or save a backup file, the App uses your device's file picker or share sheet. The destination you choose, such as a file manager, cloud storage app, messaging app, or email app, is responsible for how it handles that file after you share or save it.

Sakeenah can also share text or files that you choose to share, such as azkar content, achievements, progress summaries, and notification diagnostic reports. Diagnostic reports may include permission status, notification settings, scheduled notification metadata, active notification metadata, timezone information, and debug log entries.

9. Internet Access and Third-Party Services

Sakeenah uses internet access for limited app functions, such as reverse geocoding for readable location names. The current version does not include third-party advertising, third-party analytics, or account-login SDKs.

Third-party services that may receive data through user-triggered app features include:

Third-party services process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.

10. How We Use Information

We use information only to provide and maintain Sakeenah features, including:

11. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We do not share your local app data with advertisers or analytics providers.

Information may be shared only in these cases:

12. Data Retention and Deletion

Most Sakeenah data is stored locally on your device and remains there until you delete it, reset related features, clear app storage, or uninstall the App.

The App includes options to delete or reset some local data, such as counters, history, settings, azkar data, notification diagnostics, and other app data. The App also automatically trims some local history for storage hygiene, including reading history, tasbih history, challenge history, notification history, and prayer log entries.

Backup files and diagnostic files that you export are controlled by you. Deleting the App does not delete copies that you saved or shared outside the App.

Sakeenah does not require user accounts. Because no account is created in the App, there is no account deletion flow. If you contact us by email and want your support message deleted from our email records, send a request to the.techzone.co@gmail.com.

13. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. Local data is stored inside the App's private app storage area where Android normally restricts access by other apps. Backup files, diagnostic files, and shared text that you export are under your control, so you should store and share them carefully.

Network requests made by the App, such as reverse geocoding requests to Nominatim, use HTTPS where supported. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Children's Privacy

Sakeenah is not specifically directed to children under 13 or to children under the minimum age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support email or another channel, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

15. Your Choices and Controls

16. International Processing

If you contact us by email or use a third-party service through the App, information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence. Those services may have their own privacy and data handling practices.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. The latest version will remain available at the public URL where this page is hosted and within the App where applicable.

18. Google Play Data Safety Alignment

This Privacy Policy is intended to match Sakeenah's actual app behavior and Google Play Data Safety disclosures. If the App's features change, this policy and the Google Play Data Safety form should be updated together.
